“ Food is maybe 7 out of 10. Much better than some other chippies in the area, just sometimes the batter can go hard in places and stick too much to the fish. Generally the batter could be slightly crispier and have a little more flavour but not bad. Fish is normally nice and soft and tasty. Chips are pretty decent. The service is very good and the staff seem friendly. They are also pretty efficient as there's always plenty of staff serving due to the busyness of the plaice (Plaice, get it??? Ok then :D) So that's all good. ”

Noticed reviews regarding portion sizes and we can honestly say there has been no issues whatsoever - Infact we normally have a lot left over after dishing out. “ This place was lovely, just a shot walk away from the Premier Inn. We had fish and chips peas ×2 and one with gravy. Fish was lovely and fresh but the chips was a little crisp and the peas and gravy was as standard. ”

“ As soon as I entered the shop, the staff greeted me with lovely smiles and were ready to serve in a spotlessly clean, well-presented chip shop. I ordered the regular cod and chips. The cod came in a light, crispy, and delicious batter, while the fish itself was thick, flaky, and tasty. The chips were chunky, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, with a light, subtle flavour. The mushy peas were thick and just right, not overdone with seasoning or colouring. The curry sauce was smooth with a nice kick, though a bit bland. The pie barm is simply a pie of your choice, so I went for the meat and potato, served on a buttered barmcake. Tasty and stodgy, just as a pie barm should be. The salt-and-pepper chicken-loaded chips were plentiful, featuring those delicious chips topped with BBQ-style sauce and mayonnaise.
